Founded by Mignon Furman, the American Academy of Ballet home to one of the largest summer programs in the U.S. The AAB Summer School of Excellence has an international faculty with teachers from prestigious ballet institutions, including the Paris Opera Ballet School, the Royal Ballet School in Antwerp, and the New York City Ballet. The program brings in ballet students from across the world.
The AAB Performance Awards program is performed annually by thousands of dancers in over 18 countries.
AAB creates a high-caliber learning environment in which students have the tools to develop their technique, artistry, and stage presentation.
Our Summer School is held at the State University of New York Purchase College. We offer 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 week sessions, with performances each week!
The AAB Summer School of Excellence is attended by dancers from all over the world. Our international audition tour runs from January to March in over a dozen countries.
The Performance Awards program is a curriculum of performance material created by AAB founder Mignon Furman. The program is built of 115 pieces of choreography split into 12 levels, and guides dancers to simultaneously develop their technique, artistry, and performance quality.

AAB offers a Junior Summer School for students ages 8 to 12.
The program takes place during the last two weeks of July at Purchase College. Classes include ballet technique, character, and jazz, and students have the opportunity to take classes from AAB's incredible international faculty!
